Today you can discover the legends and history of one of the most beautiful areas in Cyprus. Our first stop will be the ancient city of Kourion, an impressive Greco-Roman unspoiled site which includes mosaics and a superb amphitheater. From this beautiful, unspoiled spot perched high on a cliff, enjoy the dazzling view of the ruins and the sea below. Limassol is situated between the two most important ancient City-Kingdoms. Amathus in the east and Curium on the west. The name Limassol (Lemesos-in Greek) derived from the Greek word “Ne mesos” (in between) seems to point this location between the two famous ancient cities. Driving through the vineyards and citrus plantations of Fasouri our next stop will be the old town of Limassol where you will have the chance to stroll around the Limassol old town see the Mediaeval Fort built in the 14th century on the site of an earlier Byzantine castle. It is here that according to tradition, Richard the Lionheart married Berengaria of Navarre and crowned her Queen of England. Next to the old town is the Limassol Marina an exclusive waterfront development designed by a world-renowned team of architects and engineers. It combines elegant residences and a full service marina with exclusive restaurants and shops, to create a lifestyle uniquely shaped by ‘living on the sea’.
